Dr. Caccamese joined Towson University as medical director in the fall of 2021. In addition to treating students, she oversees the medical operations of the Health Center. Read her bio.

Dr. Lopez has been a practicing physician since 1998. She attended medical school at the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Medical Center in Quezon City, Philippines, where she also completed her OB-GYN   residency and practiced as an OB-GYN for one year. Dr Lopez then completed her Family Medicine Residency at Hamot Medical Center in Erie, PA, and has been working at TU since 2007. She is passionate about Women鈥檚 Health and preventive care such as providing her patients with access to updated immunizations. She loves working with her colleagues at the TU Health Center and connecting with her patients.

Dr Martello received her undergraduate degree in biology from College of Notre Dame and master's degree from Johns Hopkins University in Health Science. She completed her medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She remained at the University of Maryland and completed a combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics residency program and was Chief Resident in her last year of training.  She fondly remembers rotating through Towson Student health clinic as a medical resident during her training. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and is a member of American College of Physicians. She has worked as a primary care provider in the University of Maryland system and as an Urgent Care provider in Harford County for several years. She is thrilled to join the team of TU health care providers 01/2025 and is dedicated to the well being of students.

Paula is a board-certified Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She considers each patient鈥檚 culture, lifestyle, and individuality when creating a treatment plan. She believes that safe and effective treatment can be achieved by incorporating evidence-based practices, providing patient education, and encouraging patient involvement in creating an individualized treatment plan.  She loves caring and advocating for her patients, having 15 years of nursing experience, including working at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore and Franklin Square Hospital as a registered nurse. She completed her master's degree at Walden University and finished her bachelor's degree in nursing at the University of the City of Manila. 

Kathryn (Katie) Jenkins is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who brings a comprehensive and student-centered approach to mental health care. She holds a Master of Science in Nursing from Maryville University, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Maryland Global Campus, and both a Master鈥檚 degree and Certificate of Advanced Study in School Psychology from Towson University. She earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Loyola University Maryland.   Prior to joining Towson University, Katie worked in multiple public school systems as a school psychologist, served as a pediatric emergency and inpatient nurse at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, and practiced in an outpatient psychiatric setting as a PMHNP. She is especially passionate about working with children, adolescents, and young adults, and enjoys educating others on how mental health connects with physical wellness, exercise, and nutrition. As a proud Towson alumna, Kathryn is thrilled to return to campus as a staff member and looks forward to supporting the well-being of TU students.

Rebecca is an LCSW-C who has been practicing for over 10 years in inpatient settings and outpatient collaborative care programs with patients of all ages in the Towson area.  She completed her undergraduate degree in social work at Elizabethtown College and her master鈥檚 degree in social work from The University of Maryland School of Social Work.  She is passionate about reducing the stigma of mental health care. She enjoys providing psycho education to patients to allow them to make the best decisions for their overall health. Rebecca is excited to be a part of the TU team and advocate for the needs of the students.

Dr. Ellen Mongan is the consulting psychiatrist for the TU Health Center.She received her undergraduate degree in biology from Villanova University and her medical degree from the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City.  She completed her psychiatry residency in the University of Maryland/Sheppard Pratt training program.  She is board certified in Psychiatry.In addition to her clinical work, she previously served as the director of resident and medical student education for Sheppard Pratt.  She has worked extensively as a consulting psychiatrist in the primary care programs at Greater Baltimore Medical Center and Atlantic Health System. Dr. Mongan is a strong advocate of the streamlined process of psychiatric collaboration with medical providers and on-site therapists in outpatient medical offices.  She has seen this model of care be highly effective in supporting the emotional wellness and growth of large numbers of patients within the primary care setting, particularly students and young adults.

Holly attended the PA program at Essex after completing an undergraduate degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology from Towson State University. She worked 19 years in an outpatient primary care/urgent care setting before returning to Towson to work in the Health Center in 2014. Holly is passionate about helping young adults learn to navigate the healthcare system and take charge of their health. She enjoys the camaraderie of the staff and the energy and spunk of her patients.

Barbara is a Towson native and is a graduate of TU's Physician Assistant Master's Program. She has her undergraduate degrees in Health Administration and Neurodiagnostic Studies. She is passionate about both de-stigmatizing and providing Women's & Mental Health care. She loves providing health care to her hometown community, and being near all the Bubble Tea shops around Towson.

Olivia graduated from the Duke University PA Program after earning her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry with a minor in Psychology from Stevenson University. She previously worked in urgent care clinics in Maryland and Pennsylvania before joining the team at TU in 2023. There she cared for patients of all ages with acute and chronic medical conditions. Prior to PA school, Olivia worked as a surgical tech at a Mohs skin cancer surgery center and loves performing procedures and treating dermatologic conditions as a result. She is also passionate about teaching her patients about preventative care and giving them the tools to continue leading healthy lives, even after graduation. Olivia is very excited to be a part of the team and get to know her students!

Vasilia (Vas) graduated from TU鈥檚 Physician Assistant Master鈥檚 Program in 2021 after completing her undergraduate degree in Biology from TU in 2018. She gained urgent care experience from previous employment, seeing patients of all ages across various clinics in Maryland. Vasilia is passionate about getting to know her patients in order to find individualized, realistic ways to meet their unique healthcare needs. She enjoys teaching students about preventative health care strategies and loves working with her hands such as suturing lacerations. She is excited to be back at TU!

Linda has worked at the TU Health Center since 1989. She is passionate about keeping TU students healthy, especially in areas of Women's Health, Dermatology, allergic conditions, and preventative self-care.

Shelley began her career at the TU Health Center in 2017, and is actively pursuing a degree in Nursing here at TU. She enjoys coordinating our clinic services and being able to help our students navigate their healthcare in a way that is accessible and stress-free.

Diane has a background in supporting community health and well-being, serving as a Paramedic and firefighter for 30 years in Baltimore City. This experience strengthened her passion for emergency medicine and making a difference in her community. She has worked at the Health Center since the spring of 2021 where she worked diligently to support our COVID response team in the TU COVID Testing Center before shifting into her current role as a Medical Assistant.

I received my certification from Carroll Community College in 2016 as a clinical medical assistant. Since 2016 I have worked as a medical assistant in neurology and general surgery and in radiology services. While here I hope to help make sure every student is at their best while they are here at Towson.

Sam has experience working in urgent care and family practice and is excited to work with the students at TU! Sam's ultimate goal is to attend Physician Assistant school and become a PA, where she can continue to make a positive impact on patient care. 

Jess has worked at the Health Center since fall 2022 and is excited to work with students and grow her skills as an MA. She is passionate about heart health and helping our students maintain their health and wellbeing!

Xavier a dedicated Medical Assistant with over a decade of diverse healthcare experience, having graduated from Medical Assistant school in 2014. He completed his externship at MedStar Franklin Square in 2014, working in the Family Medicine department, and then returned in 2015 as a full-time Medical Assistant, where he gained invaluable hands-on experience in patient care and clinical support. In 2018, he expanded his expertise by joining Johns Hopkins in the Dermatology Surgery department, specializing in the MOHS surgery technique for the removal of skin cancers. He is highly experienced in First Aid, CPR, and assisting with minor procedures, further strengthening his ability to provide comprehensive care in various clinical settings. Over the years, he has worked across a wide range of industries, broadening his skill set and understanding of patient care. He is excited to bring his knowledge and fresh perspective to Towson University, where he looks forward to helping educate patients on health, making healthcare more approachable, and assisting them through the transition from childhood to adulthood.

With a BS in Biology and Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and an MHA from Saint Louis University, Yu-Ling has always had in interest in supporting and optimizing the well-being of others. His experience working in pediatrics and geriatrics has helped him see first-hand the varying health care supports someone may need across the life span. Since joining TU in May 2021, he has shown that he is passionate about creating a lasting impact in our students lives by addressing gaps in healthcare and education, so that they don鈥檛 become health issues or concerns later on in life.

Jennifer is one of the newest members of the Health Center starting in January 2023. Having worked as a Nursing Assistant and in Retail Management she developed her love for helping people. With her organizational skills and positive outlook, she hopes to support her colleagues with anything. Jenn is very passionate about making sure that everyone feels accepted for who they are and helping others wherever she is needed.

Emi has worked at the TU Health Center since 2019, starting as an Insurance and Billing Associate. She enjoys working with students in understanding how to use their insurance and answering their billing questions.

Cheryl has worked at the TU Health Center since 2007. She enjoys interacting with students and helping them access quality care by supporting them in navigating their insurance.

Tanner attended Cecil County School of Technology where he earned his Clinical Medical Assistant Certification. Tanner has worked at TU since 2021 and is currently pursuing a Health Services Management Bachelor's degree at UMGC. He enjoys all of the opportunities that working at TU has given him, as well as working alongside his awesome coworkers!

Rahebeh (Sherry) has worked at Towson University since 2015, in different positions and different departments. She started working at TU Health Center November of 2023. She loves interacting with students and getting them the help that they need.
