We will develop a treatment plan with you, which may or may not include prescription medication. Patients are typically encouraged to also pursue psychotherapy to accompany medication management.

Students with Established Prescribers

If you are already working with a provider, we recommend that you continue with that provider if you are able to do so. Students with a History of ADHD Treatment

If you are already working with a prescriber, we strongly encourage you to continue receiving care from that provider.

Transferring care

For students with an established diagnosis of ADHD who are interested in transferring care to our team, you will need to provide documentation including previous diagnostic assessments and relevant medical records. The documentation will be reviewed by our team, and you will be scheduled for an appointment if the documentation meets our criteria per the Towson University Health Center ADHD Medication Management Policy (PDF).

You can use the Release of Information Form (PDF) to request records from your previous provider.

Students with No Prior History of ADHD Treatment

Students expressing interest in an ADHD evaluation will be referred to the Counseling Center for a same day appointment to assess their needs. Please note that the Counseling Center and Health Center do not conduct ADHD evaluations. Students seeking an evaluation for ADHD will be referred to a community provider through a referral coordinator.
