Student Peer Support Specialists

Sian Guilford (she/her) is the daughter of a Marine Corps Veteran, and a Business Administration Major with a concentration in International Business. She loves spending time with the MVC community and assisting in any way she can. She loves drawing, random side quests, and applesauce

Kacey Johnston (she/her) is a Business Administration major / Economics minor, and an F-35 Air Force crew chief veteran. She is sapphic trans girl and acts as a support advocate and safe space for anyone in the LGBTQ+ community. She plans to open a caf茅 upon graduation. Her golden retriever, Apollo, is her whole world.

Ryan Shrake (he/him), originally from Maryland, enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 2018 and left in 2023. He then began his academic career at Towson University, where 丑别鈥檚 pursuing a master's in supply chain management. Ryan joined the Towson MVC in Spring 2025 and is set to graduate in Fall 2028. 

Sean Evans (he/him) is an Air Force veteran and current E-6 Personnel Specialist in the Air Force Reserve, with ten years of service and a strong background in personnel management. 贬别鈥檚 pursuing a bachelor鈥檚 degree in business administration with a concentration in Human Resources at TU, driven by a commitment to help others thrive in both military and civilian settings. Outside of work, he stays balanced through writing, reading, art, fitness, and gaming. he strives to adapt, lead, and apply the discipline learned from his service to every aspect of his life, aiming to make a positive impact wherever he goes.

Ewura-Baffouaah Mensah (she/her), pronounce "Air-uh," is currently studying Criminal Justice and Psychology at Towson. Her father was in the Army for 24 years before retiring. She is excited to get to know and support the MVC community each semester.

Mercedes Garcia (she/her) is an Art major and Marine Corps veteran. When she's not working, 测辞耻鈥檒濒 find her lost in fantasy everything (books, games, movies鈥搚ou name it), daydreaming about food, or looking up new games to play! Swing by the MVC to chat with her about resources, your latest binge-watch鈥攐r just to say hi.

Toby Frevert is an alumnus of University of Mayland, Baltimore County. Prior to joining the Towson University Community, he worked in politics, non-profits, and hospitality. Toby is a proud member of Tau Kappa Epsilon International Fraternity. He enjoys grilling, campfires, and the Catskill Mountains. He is a student at Towson University, seeking a Professional Studies M.A., with a focus on student affairs and in serving military-affiliated identities.

Rebecca Cossaboom is a two-time alumna of Towson University and licensed graduate professional counselor in Maryland. At TU, she majored in psychology where she went on to get her master's in counseling psychology. She has worked in higher education at TU in several roles over the past seven years prior to joining the MVC team. Most recently, Rebecca worked at the Towson University Counseling Center coordinating mental health outreach and prevention programming across campus. Rebecca is a proud daughter of a veteran, cat mom, plant collector, fall weather enthusiast, and foodie. Most importantly, she is passionate about supporting students, in their ability to not just survive, but thrive during their time at TU. 顿辞苍鈥檛 hesitate to reach out to get connected -- she is always up for turning a meeting into a walk around campus!

Dario DiBattista is a combat veteran of the United States Marine Corps. In addition to being the editor of the anthology (Hudson Whitman / Excelsior College Press 2016), he has written about military and veteran topics for numerous publications. Dario has worked in higher education (residence life, adjunct faculty, student affairs) for over 18 years, while also working as a creative writing instructor for the . He is a candidate within the Doctor of Education program at Frostburg State University, where he is studying higher educational leadership. His scholarship and original research concerns the lived experiences of Generation Z student-veterans in postsecondary education.
