Celebrating Tigers Returning to Campus
In his August newsletter to faculty and staff, President Ginsberg spotlighted TU's new students for fall 2025.
Starting today, more than 5,600 new Tigers will join our university community including nearly 3,000 freshmen. These first-year students were selected from our largest applicant pool in TU history (22,118) and represent an academically high-performing incoming class with a collective high school GPA of 3.87. We are also welcoming an anticipated 1,600 transfer students, continuing our position as a leading transfer destination in the region, and nearly 1,100 newly admitted graduate students.
In addition to thousands of young Marylanders, our incoming class includes students from across the country and around the world. From nearby Pennsylvania and New York to Florida, Alaska, Europe and Africa, students from every background are choosing TU as their home. They are pursuing a wide range of majors across our 110+ academic programs. Indeed, our incoming class will add to the depth and vibrancy of our university community.
Our new students signal our momentum and our continuing upward trajectory. As we begin this new academic year, I send my sincere gratitude to our outstanding and dedicated faculty and staff for all you do to make Towson University an inspiring place to learn, work and grow.
All the best for a great fall semester. Let’s roar together—Go Tigers!
Mark R. Ginsberg, Ph.D.
