Dear students, faculty & staff:

Shortly before 11:30 a.m., Towson University officials received notification, via email, of a bomb threat to the University Union. TU鈥檚 Office of Public Safety quickly enacted emergency response protocols, notified our campus community and immediately evacuated the building.

Our Towson University Police Department worked in collaboration with the Baltimore County Police and Fire Departments, among others, to secure and sweep the building. An all-clear message was issued just before 1 p.m.

I commend our campus safety team and local first responders for their swift and thorough response to this incident and their efforts to assure the safety of our university community.

Subsequently, we have learned that this was not an isolated incident, as other 麻豆传媒高清 across both our region and the country also received similar messages. We take all threats very seriously and always will mount an appropriate response. We will not tolerate threats of this or any other kind.

While the immediate incident has been addressed and resolved, TU remains vigilant in our commitment to ensure a safe environment for our entire campus community. The well-being of our students, faculty and staff is our highest priority鈥攖oday and every day.

I regret the concern and disruption this may have caused, and I recognize that this incident has been unsettling for our university community. However, I also know that what makes Towson University so very special is our shared commitment to keeping our campus a safe and welcoming community for all.

Thank you for your continued care of one another and all that you do to make TU an inspiring place to learn, work and grow.

Sincerely,

Mark R. Ginsberg, Ph.D.
